Personal Statement

I am a hybrid techie/artist with an itch to explain, document, celebrate,

or commemorate just about anything in a way that brings a smile of understanding, satisfaction, or just plain joy. The medium for expression can be a document, an illustration, a photograph, a PowerPoint, a song – or even a flag! Attention to detail and unexpected nuance adds both to my own inspiration on the creating end and to the smile on the receiving end.

I am as crazy about smooth style and punctuation (reader engagement) as I am to the layout of a graphic (viewer engagement) or the rhythm and rhyme of a song (listener engagement).

The spectrum of life experience that has brought me to this curious condition runs from technical (MIT, computer science) to adventurous (seaplane pilot, offshore sailor) to artistic (Sea Songs, my award-winning CD of children’s songs).
